Turkey Dinner Bowl

Yes. You can bring turkey dinner out to the backcountry! It’s super delicious and provides energy boosting nutrients such as carbs, proteins and numerous vitamins!

Most of these ingredients are dehydrated. Pick them up at your local grocery store, or make your own! (How? Visit our dehydrating 101 page)

Yield: 1 serving

  • 1/2 package of Stove Top Stuffing
  • 1/4 cup dehydrated ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp dehydrated carrot
  • 1 tbsp dehydrated onion
  • 1 tbsp dehydrated celery
  • 1 tbsp dehydrated mushrooms
  • 1 tbsp dried cranberries (FYI It’s simply more time and cost effective to buy them)

Dry gravy packet (make sure to get one that only needs water!)

1. Cook ground turkey until golden brown. (*Avoid using oils – add water to the pan as needed instead).

2. Lightly rinse and drain turkey to rid of excess fats and oils. (They are dehydrated food spoiling culprits!)

3. Dehydrate turkey at 160° for approx 7 hours

4. Slice carrots, onions, celery and mushrooms. Blanch carrots for 2 minutes.

5. Dehydrate vegetables at 135° for approx 6-10 hours (time varies on vegetable type)

6. Combine all ingredients. (Don’t forget the cranberries!)

7. Add 1 1/2 cups boiling hot water. Let sit for approx 12 minutes

8. If adding gravy, cook while food is sitting. Pour on top when done.
